CIWIC: Computers in Writing-Intensive Classrooms

MTU is served daily by Northwest Airlink from Detroit or Minneapolis through the Houghton County Memorial Airport (airport code CMX) in Hancock, Michigan. The nationwide reservations number for Northwest Airlines is 800-225-2525. Conference personnel can arrange to meet participants at the Houghton County Airport on Saturday, June 15 and Sunday, June 16, 2002 (also, earlier and later, if desired). Contact Cheryl E. Super 8 Motel
A block of rooms has been reserved at the Super 8 Motel, 1200 E. Lakeshore Drive, Houghton, approximately two blocks on a walking trail from campus on the Portage Lake waterfront. Rooms are available on a first-come, first-served basis. Please make your reservation by calling the motel directly at 906-482-2240; identify yourself as a participant in the "Computers in Writing-Intensive Classrooms Summer Institute" to receive the conference rate of $40 per night (plus applicable taxes) for a single. After May 18, 2002 the rooms will be available on a space-available basis only.

MTU Apartments, Daniell Heights
Housing is also available in the MTU Apartments, Daniell Heights. The estimated rates for 8-14 days in 2001 range from $275 for a one-bedroom apartment to $355 for a two-bedroom apartment, plus 6% tax. Deluxe suites with air-conditioning are also available. Wadsworth Residence Hall
Housing is also available in the Wadsworth Residence Hall (located directly across the street from Walker Arts and Humanities Center) on the Michigan Technological University campus. Suite-type rooms (a connecting bath between two-separate rooms) are $29 per night for a single and $40 per night for a double, plus 6% tax. Mini-refrigerators and rooms with private baths are subject to availability.
