My response is to say "thank you." This is my first CCCC conference. I have felt many of the rebuffs as the daughter of an East Chicago steelworker that Nancy Grimm lists. I have been schizoid in order to get anywhere in academia. The most refuent response of others in class here in Arizona to my idea that working people should be allowed to express their POV has been silence. Usually, some other topic will be taken up and mine will go nowhere.
